Meet Our Pastors

Welcome to Divine Word!  Let me take a moment to tell you a bit about myself.  My name is Scott Wolfram, a Wisconsinite by birth (from Watertown).  I lived in Watertown for 18 years, attending one of our Synod's fine prep schools, Northwestern/Luther Prep School from 1993-1996.  My college years were spent training for the pastoral ministry at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. After that, it was back to Wisconsin, attending Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon.  I served as a vicar (pastoral internship) in Cary/Apex, NC from 2002-2003 before graduating from the Seminary in 2004.  From there I was assigned to Christ Lutheran in Juneau, Alaska, where I served from 2004-2011.  In March, 2011 I accepted the call to serve as pastor of Divine Word.

I married my wonderful wife Stephanie in July of 2002.  She is a native of Toledo, OH and after going to high school in Saginaw, MI, college in New Ulm and teaching for a couple years in Onalaska, WI, is used to midwest living.  In our free time we enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities from running to biking to hiking.  When the weather doesn't allow it, we enjoy working out in various strength training and spin classes at a local gym.

The "kids" are two Shiba Inus, Kietsu and Kai.  We'd be half than truthful if we said they aren't the ones who really run the house.  They definitely keep us on our toes!

My primary duties at Divine Word include preaching, overseeing overall ministry direction, coordinating worship services, teaching large and small group Bible studies, financial stewardship, elder ministry, youth ministry through high school, counseling, weddings and funerals. I look forward to meeting you sometime either in worship or outside of it.  May Jesus bless your day and thank you for taking the time to check out our website!

My name is Jim Roecker, born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan. I lived in Saginaw for 18 years and attended our Synod’s prep school there, Michigan Lutheran Seminary from 2002-2006. I went on to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and enrolled in their program for pastoral ministry. I then continued my training for ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon. I served as a vicar in Grove City, OH where I received practical ministry experience as a pastoral intern. I served there from 2013-2014 before graduating from the Seminary in May of 2015. I was assigned as the second pastor at Divine Word upon graduation.
I married my wife Elizabeth in July of 2013. She is a native of Genesee Depot, WI. She attended Luther Prep School and Martin Luther College. Since graduating in May 2010 she has taught primary grades in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin. In our free time we enjoy attending sporting events and participating in different athletic activities.
My primary duties at Divine Word include overseeing all outreach activities, visiting prospects, Bible Information Class, campus ministry at UW Stevens Point, preaching, weddings, funerals and counseling. I look forward to getting to know you and getting involved with the many community events the area has to offer!
